With 3-10 students per class, students are able to make the most of very concentrated lessons which encourage debate, conversation, presentations, and open interpretations to the NESA English syllabus and prescriptions.

For the more discerning students, private classes give them the opportunity to receive a completely tailored learning experience that’s unique to them. They are mentored 1 : 1 by experienced and qualified English-education professionals.

Collectively, we have over 20 years worth of experience teaching students from a variety of academic backgrounds. Our educators have relevant field experience as teachers in government and independent schools, which means we live and breathe NESA requirements and prescriptions.
Qualified
While having a tertiary qualification may not necessarily promise a great tutor, it does give peace of mind in knowing that your tutor is not a random person who is bluffing on the content. A tutor, like any other white-collar professional, is better off with a tertiary qualification. Our educators have relevant university degrees and specialisations to ensure that our pedagogy and the content we teach is informed by intelligence and sensitivity.

Over the years, my siblings have been fortunate to learn under the guidance of principal tutors David and Emma. Their wisdom, attentiveness, and success have always impressed me. While academic marks are important, Foci also emphasises learning driven by curiosity. After each lesson, I always ask my siblings about their class experience. Without fail, they share the new skills or perspectives they’ve gained—from their academic work to literature and even insights about the broader world. I am delighted that Foci nurtures their students in a supportive environment that avoids undue pressure while challenging them to excel.
