About us

Born, raised and educated in Sydney (Australia), Foci Education was started in November 2019 by two friends, David and Emma. They have both graduated from university as prospective secondary English and History teachers; Emma has graduated from The University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Arts (History & English) and Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary), and David has graduated from Western Sydney University with a Bachelor of Arts (English, Linguistics, Education & Sociology).

Collectively, the two have over two decades of experience in teaching English at established tuition centres where they worked directly under their respective founders. Furthermore, they have also worked in a number of Government and independent NSW high schools with a range of students with different levels of proficiency in English. In their free time, David likes to go on cafe runs and enjoys making solo dinner reservations, and Emma is into composting and loves crying at art exhibitions.

What’s our goal?
In the education space, there are plenty of superlatives and noun stacking that goes on to describe the goal of English tuition centres. For us here at Foci Education, we have one goal. To deliver a promise. When parents and students walk into our office, and enrol their kids into our centre, they are investing in a promise – the promise of improved English proficiency and mastery, better academic results, and a pathway to a limitless and ambitious future filled with opportunities for their kids — by learning how to command English. Our goal is to deliver on that promise, in a human way.
